Concealed Carry Private Employers
Pursuant to O.R.C. 2923.126(C) (1) regarding private employers, except private colleges, universities or other institutions of higher learning, nothing shall:
A. Negate or restrict any rule, policy or practice concerning or prohibiting the presence of FIREARMS on the private employer’s premises or property, including motor vehicles owned by the employer.
B. Require a private employer to adopt a rule, practice or policy concern or prohibiting the presence of FIREARMS on the private employer’s premises or property, including motor vehicles owned by the employer.
In order for a law enforcement officer to enforce an employer’s policies, a sign must be posted in a conspicuous place. ( See Signs.)
Nothing shall prevent or require a private employer from adopting a rule, practice or policy concerning the presence of a firearm on their property, premises or motor vehicles
(It is no longer a “criminal offense” for a CCW licensee to carry into a posted private parking lot, however CAN BE sued civilly.)
