New Gear for Muskingum County K9s

by Carmel Victor on September 20, 2016

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office upgrades its protective gear for its K9 unit.

Thanks to a generous donation from the Women of  Moose Lodge, the sheriff’s office was able to upgrade four ballistic vests.

“They are able to donate some money that partially took care of our K9 group,” Sheriff Lutz said.

The new vests are more functional, light weight and adjustable. The previous vests were bulky and non-adjustable. The deputies can even lift and carry the dogs if necessary. Another new edition is the word “sheriff” on the vest so you can easily identify the K9 deputy.

“It’s just another tool of the trade that we need. We’re very fortunate for the support we get from the county, our citizens, and business and the Moose Lodge. We just wanted to thank them publicly for going above and beyond,” Lutz said.

Lutz said K9s are a huge asset to the sheriff’s office and he’s glad that we can give these vest to them that protects their vital organs in case they are put into danger. - Shop for over 300,000 Premium Domains
